Three Fun Ways to Meet Troop 14 & Test Your Scouting Skills

Saturday, 10/12/24 at Camp Horseshoe
Boys learn to maintain safe, durable, and environmentally sound hiking trails that provide paths into nature for everyone, then cook a meal with one of the patrols planned by the scouts themselves. At the end of the day participants can choose to head home or join the troop for a night of camping*.

*Please note, parents/guardians must also stay overnight and have up to date YPT certification.

Another opportunity for cub scouts to attend a troop meeting and learn how our scout led meetings function, how areas of personal fitness relate to the Scout Law and Scout Oath, as well as practicing lashings and splices.

At all meetings Parents & Guardians are invited to learn more about the program and meet the adult leaders who are happy to answer any questions.

Open to boys between the ages of 10 and 17.
No scouting background required, so bring some friends.

“Our family loves Troop 14 because of the people. The leaders are so wonderful and my son has thrived in a smaller troop where he knows all the kids, older to younger.” – LAUREN B.

With a few exceptions the Troop meets on Mondays at 7:30 PM at the United Methodist Church located at 129 S High St, West Chester, PA 19382.

At meetings the scouts work on advancements, plan for upcoming camping trips, discuss the annual fundraiser or focus on specific subjects of interest.

The scouts go on a trip almost every month via the troop bus. In the past this included whitewater rafting, kayaking, skiing, axe throwing, hiking, biking, go karting and inter-patrol games. In July the troop attends Camp Horseshoe for a week of fun & learning.

“Watching the boys grow in our troop is a constant reminder that scouting is about more than just badges and camping trips. It’s about building character, fostering friendships, and developing the leaders of tomorrow. Each challenge they face is a step toward becoming the best versions of themselves.” – PETE NESTOR, Scoutmaster

We hope to see you at one of our gatherings.
