Summer Camp 2022 Info

It’s hard to believe, but summer camp planning season is here again. Troop 14 will be visiting Camp Horseshoe from Sunday, July 24 to Saturday July 30, 2022.

The summer camp fee this year is $490 per scout with a $50 discount for additional scouts from the same family. This rate reflects an early bird discount.

If your scout is planning to attend summer camp, please submit a $100 deposit by the March 21st troop meeting.

Because the troop is required to pay in full by April 15th, please consider paying as much of your balance as possible before that date. The last troop meeting before that date is April 11.

After April 15, the fee rises to $535.

All scouts are encouraged to go to summer camp. If any scout has financial difficulties, please reach out to Dennis Runyon, Bill Conway or Tom Andrews to make an arrangement.

Spring Fundraiser 2022

2022 Spring Flower Power Fundraiser Troop 14

We’re kicking off our spring fundraiser. The fundraiser is an opportunity for scouts to offset the cost of summer camp and/or monthly camping fees. Scouts are not required to participate.

March 7 – May 15 (orders will be sent beginning April 1)

Products include seeds, bulbs and berries (flowers, vegetables and herbs). There are additional items in our online store. Products are guaranteed (from US and Holland).
Prices vary from about $6 –$ 30

Scouts can generate sales two ways

  1. Door to Door (with an adult): Scouts collect orders and payment. Parents organize payments and order online to be shipped directly to scout for distribution. Scout pays one $6 shipping fee.
**Parents be sure to identify the scout when ordering for credit
** We will not be collecting paper orders and payments as a troop.
  2. Online (preferred method): Customer orders from website http://troop14.fpfundraising.com/.
Customer pays $6 shipping and order is sent directly to them.
  • Customers must identify the scout that they are supporting as they complete order so that you receive credit.
See “Give credit for this order to” instructions below.
  • Orders not credited to a specific scout will be credited to the entire troop.

Masking Policy Update

Yesterday the Troop got word from the United Methodist Church that they will be revising their masking policy. Beginning Thursday, March 3rd masking will be optional in the church building. WCASD adopted a similar policy on Monday.

Beginning today, the troop will also adopt the mask optional policy at our meetings and events.Again following the Church guidance, we are asking anyone attending an indoor Troop 14 event to bring a mask in case the need for it arises. Our leaders will also have masks at the ready should a scout (or a family member) prefer to have an interaction with a mask on.

While this is welcome news for most of us, we should be respectful of individuals who make different choices than our own.

The church has also indicated that the mask requirement may be reinstated if the county COVID numbers warrant a change.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out the Committee Chair or Troop Master.
